On Thursday 16 March, in collaboration with the ABC newspaper, a tribute was paid to the creator of the famous down jacket company of the same name, with a tribute event at the headquarters of the Vocento group, in recognition of a lifetime dedicated to the mountains.<\/p>\n

The emotional event was attended by many well-known faces from the world of mountaineering, music, art and fashion, as well as Pedro’s family, clients and personal friends, who did not want to miss this special event.<\/p>\n

The team of Pedro G\u00f3mez, the legendary handmade down jacket company from Madrid, organised a very exclusive event on 16th March, in collaboration with the ABC newspaper, to pay a well-deserved tribute to Mr. Pedro G\u00f3mez Lozano (1927), founder of the brand and currently its Honorary President.<\/p>\n

It was an honour to be able to pay this tribute during his lifetime, so that its protagonist could enjoy this recognition for his entire professional and sporting career linked to the mountains from a very early age, together with many of the people who have been important to him. His face of happiness and emotion from the moment he arrived was the best reward for the work he had done.<\/p>\n

Surrounded by iconic garments framed and displayed on easels, like works of art, the presentation was given by the journalist Laura Peraita and the current CEO and owner of the brand, Jos\u00e9 Luis Serrano, who acted as masters of ceremonies of an emotional evening in a packed auditorium where there was no shortage of applause, laughter and the occasional tear.
\nPedro himself, at 95 years of age, delighted the audience with a speech brimming with sparkle and wit. In addition, the mountaineers and personal friends, Carlos Soria and C\u00e9sar P\u00e9rez de Tudela, accompanied him on such an emotional day and recounted from the stage their particular experiences lived in the mountains and linked to their sports clothing.<\/p>\n

During the speeches, several videos were screened, highlighting the documentary \u2018El Sastre del Fr\u00edo\u2019, which is a review of Pedro’s life from his beginnings to the baton taken over by Jos\u00e9 Luis Serrano and his team in 2019.<\/p>\n

Also DJ Nano, ambassador of the firm and protagonist of the latest collaboration that has just been launched, offered his personal vision of the mythical mountain ensign, which had so many followers in the decades of the \u201880s and \u201990s.<\/p>\n

Throughout the celebration, Pedro was presented with several trophies for his career: a commemorative plaque from the Pedro G\u00f3mez team, a reproduction of the Dama de Elche, courtesy of the Alicante City Council and presented by the Twin Dj’s, and a plate from the ABC newspaper itself, dedicating the front and back cover of the issue of the same day of the event to him.<\/p>\n

The finishing touch to this magnificent tribute was provided by the Sevillian singer and composer Manu Tenorio, who closed the evening with a version of the ranchera \u2018El Rey\u2019, favourite genre of the honoree, which made everyone there sing along.<\/p>\n

Once the gala was over, the guests were able to enjoy a cocktail courtesy of RESTAURANTE SAN FRANCISCO with a succulent menu and exquisite oysters from SORLUT. Also, delicious and elaborated cocktails DYC 15 years and ESTRELLA DAMM beers could be tasted.<\/p>\n
